A Family Business with History
Bob Johnson and Leonard Calhoun established B & L FARM SERVICES LTD. in 1984. Together they saw the need to better serve the requirements of the farming community. It was then and still is the company’s goal today to provide its customers with prompt friendly service and products that they know with confidence are the best that it can offer. Leonard has since left the company to pursue a successful endeavour of his own leaving Bob and Glenys Johnson to grow B & L Farm Services Ltd. into a very diversified family owned venture.
B & L Farm Services Ltd. is made up of different but complimentary divisions. The core area of business remains to support local beef and dairy farmers and more recently pleasure and racehorse owners through the sale of superior Masterfeeds supplements and premixes.
B & L Farm Services Ltd. offers by-product feeds along with Enerpro By-Product Feeds, a company affiliated with and administered by B & L Farm Services Ltd. Jarrett Johnson, the youngest of the Johnson boys, is available to assist customers in formulating feeding programs best suited to a farmer’s needs combining both prepared and by-product feeds .To ensure that feed orders are delivered on time the company owns a well-maintained fleet of trucks.
Modern Fencing installs a variety of fences including both Residential and Commercial applications. Son Noel oversees this division.
Most visible to customers visiting B & L Farm Services Ltd. is the RONA Hardware store managed by Robin Johnson. The store is a full-service hardware store. A piece of the store is set aside for Gifts Within a boutique bursting with something for everyone.
Diversified and recognized for its success in the business world as winners of the Saugeen Community Business Excellence award in 2000 and numerous awards for continued growth from Masterfeeds, B & L Farm Services Ltd. will be here to serve its’ customers well into the future.
